Elite Gymnast and Former Dorothy the Dinosaur — Who Is New Mum Lauren Hannaford

Lauren Hannaford

Asher William Pryce is one lucky little lad – his father is Red Wiggle Simon Pryce so it’s safe to say that bedtime lullabies will be pretty epic.

Pryce, who is married to  Lauren Hannaford, announced the birth of Asher on Instagram, sharing a photo of the happy family with the caption: “I am so overcome with emotion and overwhelming feelings of love that it’s impossible to put into words everything I am feeling right now…In an instant, I can’t imagine my life without you being here.”

Hannaford also shared her joy on social media and gave her followers an insight as to how she and Pryce had chosen their son’s name.

“Asher means happy and blessed…and that is exactly what we are to have you, our gorgeous boy,” she wrote.

The new parents met while touring with The Wiggles in 2011 and married on July 13, 2017. Hannaford, a model, gymnast and dancer, has performed alongside the popular children’s group in a variety of roles, including Wags the Dog, Henry the Octopus and Dorothy the Dinosaur.

The pair have previously said that their connection was instant and special, with Pryce admitting he was instantly smitten with his now-wife.

Hannaford, who was an elite gymnast athlete and coach for over 20 years, has a fitness website FHIT, on which she shares exercise routines and tips for mindful living.

The personal trainer also shares blog entries detailing the secrets to her and Pryce’s happy relationship.

Pryce proposed to Hannaford during a 2016 trip to Paris (remember those?!) and the happy couple announced their impending arrival on Father’s Day in September, confirming the baby’s sex two months later and were inundated with messages of congratulations after making their sweet announcement.

Welcome, little Asher! And a big congratulations to Mum and Dad – here’s hoping you got loads of sleep while you could!
