You might know Jess Eva from The Block, where she and her husband, Norm, won $209,000 and the hearts of Aussie audiences. You might also enjoy her bubbly personality on the radio on your drive to work as she co-hosts Moonman in the Morning on Triple M.
Now, you’ll be loving the down-to-earth Eva on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! as it was revealed during the January 3 premiere that she is one of the brave contestants vying to be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle.
Eva, 35, has already proven to be a friendly and upbeat competitor on the reality series, bravely jumping 14,000ft out of a helicopter as she fought back tears – and the very real fear that she would vomit. Ultimately, Eva joked that what prompted her to take the plunge was the thought of her two kids… and the fact that she really didn’t want to go home to them.
The radio host, who in September 2020 confessed to having spent all of her Block prize money, is the captain of the red team which, so far, also includes comedians Mel Buttle and Ash Williams.
The mother-of-two hails from Queensland and cut her teeth hosting regional breakfast radio in the Sunshine State before making the huge leap to metro radio at the beginning of 2019.
Alongside her co-hosts Lawrence Mooney and Chris Page, Eva delivers funny, raw and anecdotal content to Triple M listeners, even revealing in 2020 that she had previously been in an abusive relationship in the Maldives.
Eva is also an author with her first book, aptly titled Why Wouldn’t Ya?, to be released on February 23. The self-help guide will share tips and personal stories about how to own your self-worth.
As for what she and Norm spent their Block winnings on? Two above ground pools for mates (sweet!) and a very large bet on Maria Sharapova, among other things.
If the self-described loveable “bogan” is triumphant in her latest reality television outing, she will win $100,000 for a charity of her choice and, undoubtedly, more hearts nationwide.
I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Australia is now airing on Network Ten.
