Wakeboarder James Boggia Will Ruffle Feathers on ‘The Bachelorette’

The Bachelorette

Pro Wakeboarder James Boggia is said to ruffle more than a few feathers on The Bachelorette.

A self-confessed daredevil, the 28-year-old from Queensland has a fiery side, especially when it comes to feeling a little jealous.

According to his official Network Ten bio, Boggia is deeply passionate about always uplifting those around him and has just gotten over a previous heartbreak.

He describes himself as “driven, confident and stubborn” and lists his hobbies as surfing, fitness, music, and anything with a thrill. (Sounds like Locky Gilbert!)

The wakeboarder loves competition and also says what he thinks — probably why he’s one of the first to cause an issue in the mansion.

According to an interview he did in 2017 with Unleashed Wake Mag, Boggia was born in the UK and has two nicknames — Boggia or JP.

He has spent over half his life in Australia and started wakeboarding when he was 16 years old. His dad took him to Bli Bli Cable on the Sunshine Coast and he never looked back.

Even though he’s a pro, he’s had a few injuries, resulting in a few surgeries on his knee.

“Knocked myself out more than I can count but I guess that’s what most riders can say when you ride at this level,” he told the outlet.

If he is picked by one of the Miles sisters (and the international borders reopen to Australia), Boggia may head back to Asia where he has already spent time doing the sport he loves. He previously lived in Hong Kong and spent time in Phuket, to work on his health and fitness.

As for his love life, Boggia describes his dream date as “Laughter, good food and a great first kiss” and believes that “love comes with time”.

Is he the one for either Elly or Becky? We’ll soon find out.
