They’re back, baby!

Australia’s wildest and wackiest reality show is back, and if the trailer is anything to go by, better than ever. That’s right, The Masked Singer Australia is returning to screens, and the premiere is just around the corner.

The new season is set to feature some of the most out-of-this-world costumes yet, with characters like a headless Knight, a Snapdragon, and a “darling I’m a nightmare dressed like a daydream”, pastel coloured Zombie.

Hosted by Osher Günsberg, this season, our panel of judges try to decipher the clues and work out which powerhouse singers are hiding behind the masks.

This year, the only panel judge from past seasons who will be returning to The Masked Singer Australia is Dave “Hughesy” Hughes, who has been on the show since its inception in 2019.

After the recent departure of past judges Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, Urzila Carlson and Dannii Minogue, 10 recently announced the new celebrity judges who will be filling the judges’ seats in 2022.

They are *drumroll please* Chrissie Swan, Abbie Chatfield, and the one and only Mel B.

In a press statement, Mel B shared her excitement to be joining the Masked Singer Australia panel, saying: “Hello Australia. I have missed you so much but I am back and I can’t wait to get the party started with Hughesy, Abbie and Chrissie.”

She continued: “Let me tell you though, I am the best-ever game player and I have something up my sleeve that none of these guys have … I’ve hidden behind these masks as a competitor not once but twice.

“So I’m bringing all my secret inside knowledge to this. But more to the point, I’m bringing the fun. Fasten your seatbelts, everyone, it’s going to be a rollercoaster ride.”

Meanwhile, podcaster and reality star Chatfield said that she was “thrilled to be joining the panel!”

“I’m the first to say I can be competitive and I’m so ready to put my pop culture knowledge to the test and guess who is under the mask,” she added. “Bring on the clues!”

So, when does it all kick off?

The Masked Singer Australia will premiere on Sunday, August 7th, at 7.30pm, only on 10 and 10 Play on Demand. Miss an episode? You can catch up on 10 Play.
