It’s one of Australia’s more wholesome reality dating shows, and soon, it’ll be back on our screens.

That’s right, Beauty and the Geek is returning, and it’s sooner than you’d think!

It’s the show that sees a group of “geeks” paired off with a group of “beauties”, to answer the age-old question — do opposites really attract?

While it may seem like a mean-spirited concept, the revamped version of the mid-00s reality show is anything but nasty or mocking. Rather, this show is all about embracing who you are, and stepping out of your comfort zone, building self-confidence, and learning from one another.

It features laughs, heartfelt connections, and of course, life-changing makeovers, and it’s coming to warm all of our hearts this winter.

The new trailer shows all the light-hearted fun of the challenges, and features a couple jumping over fire, as well as a medieval-themed challenge. It also shows the beauties reacting to one of the makeover challenges, where one of the women can be heard telling her geek “you look amazing”.

There’s also a scene where one of the geeks reveals that he has yet to experience his first kiss, and reader, he just might get that on the show!

“I’ve never felt so passionate about a reality show and I’m so excited for the new season to start,” host Sophie Monk told Nine. “This is like no other show I’ve ever seen, and I love being a part of it. Not only does it make you laugh your arse off, it will also make you cry.”

Promising that it “will be the sweetest thing you’ll ever see”, Monk added: “Trust me, there are some major sparks flying around this season.”

We can’t wait!

Beauty and the Geek begins Sunday, July 17 at 7.00pm on Channel 9.
