‘Australian Survivor: Blood vs Water’ Looks Set to Push the Limits on January 31

The new year is nearly upon us and if you didn’t realise, then you will now because a bunch of TV shows have announced their return in the new year. After a quiet period of no reality shows on our television screens, the drama is back in full force, and first up is Australian Survivor.

Channel 10’s hit show is set to return for its seventh season with a new format: Blood vs Water on January 31, the same day as Channel 9’s Married at First Sight.

After the extended trailer was released last week, fans have been eager to know when they can binge on the upcoming episodes, and now that they know it’s only a few short weeks away, they’re bubbling with excitement.

“Ahhhhhhhh wow that’s way sooner than I thought!!!,” one wrote below the Instagram announcement.

“Best Christmas present ever ,” another shared.

Derived from the American format, Blood vs Water will see Survivor alum Sandra Diaz-Twine compete for the title alongside her daughter, Nina.

“I’m the queen of Survivor as I’m the first two-time winner ever,” Sandra says in a voice-over in the trailer. “I have a secret weapon — my baby girl Nina. Y’all better look out, because I taught her well.”

In 2022, all contestants will compete alongside a family member in what is expected to be the show’s most explosive season yet. Other contestants confirmed to appear on the show are past competitors Samantha Gash and Mark Wales, who met during a previous season and are now married.

“Playing Survivor with your spouse is a very dangerous idea. But the good thing is, if one of us wins, we both win,” Mark could be heard saying in the trailer.

Australian Survivor: Blood vs Water premieres on January 31, 2022, at 7.30pm on Channel 10 and 10play.
