Sydney’s Favourite Lamingtons Have Arrived in Melbourne

Ask any Sydneysider where the best lamingtons are, and you might hear, “Tokyo Lamington.” From yuzu to matcha and fairy bread, no one does the square sponges quite like Tokyo Lamington, and now it’s Melbourne’s turn to get a taste.

Tokyo Lamington Melbourne has been years in the making, and it’s finally coming to fruition on October 18. There will be a small pink and white shop on Elgin Street, Carlton, slinging fresh lamingtons daily.

Expect the same flavours you will find in the Sydney outpost, including the OG, Fairybread Popcorn, Tiramisu, Yuzu Meringue, Creme Caramel, and more.

As a special treat, Melburnians will also get to try the special Arnott’s collection, which launched a few weeks ago in Sydney. The collection is inspired by three classic Australian biscuits, including Iced Vovo, Mint Slice, and Lemon Crisp.

On the savoury counter, expect pork katsu sausage roll, miso mushroom quiche, beef rendang pie, and Japanese chicken curry pie.

Staying true to the Tokyo Lamington style, you can also find ceramics in the store, ranging in size, pattern, and colour.
