Ahead of its release, the new trailer for the highly anticipated film, Justin Kurzel’s The True History of the Kelly Gang is here.
Praised by critics at the Toronto International Film Festival, the epic fictionalised re-telling of the life and upbringing of the bushranger Ned Kelly, is set to be one of the stand-outs in Stan’s summer line-up.
The all-star cast is only just one of the draw-cards of the film, starring the likes of Essie Davis (Game of Thrones), Russell Crowe (Stan’s The Loudest Voice), Nicholas Hoult (Mad Max: Fury Road), ThomasinMcKenzie (Jojo Rabbit), Claudia Karvan (Stan’s The Other Guy), Earl Cave(Born to Kill) and Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy) and George McKay (Captain Fantastic).
The film spans the younger years of Ned Kelly’s life in the lead up to his death and explores the boundaries between good and evil.
Essentially at its core, it is a love story between mother and son and how the relationship unfolded over the course of his young life.
The film is set to be bold, raw and an intrinsic story to tell; and is inspired by Peter Carey’s Man Booker prize winning novel.
True History of the Kelly Gang is in select cinemas from 9 January and available on Stan from Australia Day, 26 January.
