The 2024 season of The Summit is putting its cast through the toughest challenge of all. It has tasked 14 strangers with becoming a team and climbing the rugged alps of New Zealand’s South Island. On this ascent, each contestant is carrying an equal share of one million dollars. If the group wants to keep all of this money, they have to reach the summit of a formidable, distant mountain in 15 days. But if someone is going too slow, the group can choose to eliminate them.

During last year’s season of The Summit, each cast member came from a different walk of life. The winners ended up being the musician Isaac, the boxer Lulu, and the stay-at-home parent Brooke. The 2024 season of The Summit is also set to star an eclectic cast of contestants. From Ava, an aerospace engineer, to Glen, a poker player, who knows how this group will clash.
But while this season’s contestants will be eclectic, their climb is going to be a lot more difficult than last year’s one. According to the host Jai Courtney, the 2024 season of The Summit has amped the challenge up to 11.
“Getting to the summit will be just the beginning,” Jai said. “Hold on tight.”
