The Kid LAROI Is Coming Home in 2022 for His First Ever Australian Tour

The Kid LAROI australian tour

At 18 years old, The Kid LAROI has already kicked some major career goals. The Sydney rapper has collaborated with Justin Bieber on a track called ‘Stay’, which hit number one in both Australia and the US, and the revamped version of his debut mixtape F*ck Love made it to the top of the US charts.

In March 2021, he also surpassed none other than Kendrick Lamar for most monthly listeners on Spotify, with 25,569,361 monthly listeners, compared to Kendrick’s (still very impressive) 24,470,05.

Now, the talented Kamilaroi man is heading back to our shores for the Australian leg of his End Of The World tour starting on Thursday, 26th May in LAROI’s hometown of Sydney. He will then head to Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne and Brisbane.

“I am beyond excited to share this experience with you all. It’s always been a dream of mine to headline a global tour,” LAROI said in a statement.

Born Charlton Kenneth Jeffrey Howard in the Sydney suburb of Waterloo, LAROI’s mother is Indigenous Australian and his father is French. The talented rapper, whose great-great-grandfather was a part of the Stolen Generation, chose his name due to being a member of Kamilaroi people.

Growing up impoverished and always on the move with his family, LAROI began rapping around the age of 13 as a means of escapism.

LAROI released his debut EP, ‘14 With a Dream’ in 2018 and was a finalist in the prestigious Triple J Unearthed competition that same year, going on to sign record deals with Grade A Productions and Columbia Records.

However, it was his encounter with the late rapper Juice WRLD, that really got things moving for the Aussie artist. Juice became LAROI’s mentor, adding him as the support act for his Australian tours in 2018 and 2019.

The young artist recently performed alongside Bieber at the 2021 MTV VMA’s in New York, where he was nominated for two awards, Push Performance of the Year and Best New Artist, both of which were won by Olivia Rodrigo.
