“Light as a feather, stiff as a board…” Did you really grow up in the 90s if you didn’t gather with your friends at a sleepover and try to lift them with your fingers?
The Craft was one of those films that was one-part witchy, two-parts scary and a whole lot of Skeet Ulrich — and now, it’s getting a reboot for a new generation.
24 years after the original movie starring Neve Campbell, Robin Tunney and Fairuza Balk, a sequel is coming to cinemas in November.
The Craft: Legacy, which will be released in movie theatres across the country on November 5, is Blumhouse’s continuation of the original film.
An eclectic foursome of aspiring teenage witches get more than they bargained for as they lean into their newfound powers.
Written and directed by Zoe Lister-Jones — who was a fixture in New Girl — the film stars Cailee Spaeny (Devs), Gideon Adlon (Blockers), Lovie Simone (Greenleaf), Zoey Luna (Pose), Nicholas Galitzine (Chambers), with Michelle Monaghan (Messiah) and David Duchovny (Californication).
The sequel takes place where the first one left off and centres around Hannah (Spaeny), a teen who is forced to move and change schools when her mother (Monaghan) remarries. Along with gaining a new dad (Duchovny), she also gains three new brothers.
When Hannah arrives at school, the presence awakens the local teenage coven (Simone, Adlon and Luna), who quickly realise they have found their fourth. Then, Hannah discovers a photo of Nancy Downs (Balk) — the evilest of the original witches. Has Sarah’s (Tunney) binding spell finally warn off and is Nancy back for round two? We certainly hope so.
This one looks scarier than the original but count us in.
Blumhouse’s The Craft: Legacy, will hit Aussie cinemas from November 5.
