It’s been a big year for reality TV, and it’s set to get even bigger with Channel 10’s latest offering.
Premiering for the first time in Australia is The Challenge, a competition that sees reality television veterans go head to head in the hopes of winning $100,000.
Derived from the hugely popular UK version, which has spawned 37 seasons, The Challenge is known to be a physical and mental task that isn’t easy to overcome.
The Australian version of the show is slightly different. Titled The Challenge: War of the Worlds, the franchise will see four countries — Australia, the UK, the US and Argentina — air their own versions of the series, known as The Challenge (part one).
The winners of each instalment will then move on to The Challenge (part two) where they will face off to determine the ultimate winner.
Kind of like the Olympics.
Filming is currently taking place in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and while we haven’t been told a premiere date just yet, it’s expected to air later this year.
