The Bridge Australia has kicked off, and things are heating up already.

The premise is simple enough: 12 strangers are tasked with building a 330-metre bridge, in only 17 days. However, if they’re successful and actually manage to work together to complete the bridge in time, they then have to select one person to cross the bridge and retrieve the $250,000 prize that’s hidden on the island.

That person then has the ultimate decision to make: do they share the winnings with their fellow competitors, or keep it all for themselves? As you can see, this complicates matters, and of course, there are plenty of twists and turns along the way to keep the players on their toes.

It’s part social experiment, part physical challenge, and of course, heavy on strategy, and it’s sure to be a hit with fans of Australian Survivor and the new iteration of Big Brother Australia.

For 31-year-old First Nations author Allira Potter, The Bridge Australia is another new adventure to add to her list of accomplishments.

A manifestation and spiritual coach, as well as reiki practitioner, intuitive reader, energy healer, and content creator, Potter is already quite well-known online. In fact, she released her first book, Wild and Witchy, this year, which is “a handbook for millennials about life, loss and spirituality”.

Now, she’s ready to show Australia a whole new side of herself.

“I look high maintenance, but I love the outdoors,” Potter said in a press release. “I’m not a quitter, I’m up for any challenge.”

When it comes to the strengths she’s bringing into the competition, Potter said that she’ll be drawing on her “strong mindset and strength”. On the other hand, she mentioned that one of her weaknesses is her inclination to “buckle under pressure”, and with no building experience to speak of, there’s sure to be some pressure along the way!

Still, Potter believes she’s got what it takes to go all the way, and to become the one to cross the bridge and win.

Asked if she thought she could win, Potter replied: “Yes, because of my mindset, communication, and strength.”

She added: “I’m also aware there will be people that will need the cash more than me!” which is perhaps an indicator of the decision she would make if she were the one to cross the bridge on behalf of the players.

Will the “sassy, psychic and witchy” sister make it all the way to the end? Only time will tell. Until then…

The first three episodes of The Bridge Australia are streaming now on Paramount+, with new episodes dropping each Friday.
