‘The Bachelors Australia’: Sporty Tilly Is Here to Bowl Felix Over

Well, folks, The Bachelors‘ summer of love is finally here and, this season, things are going to be different.

Past seasons of The Bachelor Australia have featured helicopter dates over Sydney’s picturesque harbours, where our Bachelor would woo his date for the day. Then, they’d head back to the candle-lit mansion, dripping in fairy lights, for an elaborate Rose Ceremony where, each week, he’d whittle down the women vying for his affection one by one.

This season, all of that is changing.

First, and perhaps most importantly, there are three Bachelors — Jed McIntoshFelix Von Hofe, and Thomas Malucelli — looking for love this year and, if the promos are anything to go by, at least one of them will pop the question by the end of the series.

Secondly, the show has relocated to Queensland’s sunny Gold Coast. The girls are residing in a waterfront mansion, but there’s not a twinkling light or candle in sight, promising a sleeker, more modern version of The Bachelors than we’ve seen in past seasons.

Finally, the promos show a more dynamic, less linear path to love for both our Bachelors and the girls in the mansion. As we’ve seen, there are girls who reject our Bachies, and some who may be keen to switch Bachelors along the way.

All in all, it’s set to be an exciting season and, with the first promos introducing the women vying for our Bachelors’ hearts dropping, it’s time to get to know them.

One of the women hoping to make a love match with basketballer Felix is 24-year-old Tilly from Victoria

In a new promo spot released by Network Ten, we see a glimpse of Felix and Tilly on their first date; an indoor cricket match.

“Tilly’s bowled Felix over,” declares the voiceover, as Felix adds, “She was hot. She was really, really, really hot”.

He continued: “I find confidence sexy and she had it in absolute spades.”

We catch glimpses of the potential love birds’ first date, which shows the couple laughing together, with Felix even picking Tilly up to spin her around at one point.

“You’re so strong!” she declares with a giggle, before we see Felix offering Tilly a rose.

“This is like the best,” Tilly says in a confessional. “I feel — I’m really happy.”

When she’s not appearing on The Bachelors Australia, Tilly is all about staying fit and healthy, so the cricket date is a good representation of the fun-loving, energetic kind of gal she is in the real world.

It’s not just cricket, though. Tilly loves an adrenaline rush, and in a press statement, said that her dream date would be “something thrill seeking”.

“Bungee jumping, [a] helicopter ride, sky diving,” she mused, “something crazy fun.”

Tilly is all about being direct — she doesn’t sugarcoat things, and she always wears her heart on her sleeve. When it comes to why she’s still single, though, she suspects that she may be “intimidating to men”.

“I am so driven, I have high standards and I know what I deserve,” she said.

As for what she wants in a partner, Tilly is looking for someone who can match her energy. They have to be “driven, cheeky, fun”, as well as “caring and considerate”, and there’s bonus points for being tall.

She wants “someone who follows through with actions, [is] active and takes pride in their appearance. Someone that brings out the best of [her].”

Will Tilly continue to bowl Felix over, or will their connection strike out under the pressure of the Bachelor mansion? Only time will tell. Until then…

The Bachelors Australia premieres on January 9, only on 10 and 10 Play on Demand.
