‘The Bachelors Australia’: Will Felix Be the Love Connection That Abigail Is Looking For?

Well, folks, The Bachelors‘ summer of love is finally here, and this season, things are going to be different.

Past seasons of The Bachelor Australia have featured helicopter dates over Sydney’s picturesque harbours, where our Bachelor would woo his date for the day. Then, they’d head back to the candle-lit mansion dripping in fairy lights for an elaborate Rose Ceremony, where each week, he’d whittle down the women vying for his affection one by one.

This season, all of that is changing.

First, and perhaps most importantly, there are three Bachelors — Jed McIntoshFelix Von Hofe, and Thomas Malucelli — looking for love this year, and if the promos are anything to go by, at least one of them will pop the question by the end of the series.

Secondly, the show has relocated to Queensland’s sunny Gold Coast. The girls are residing in a waterfront mansion, but there’s not a twinkle light or candle in sight, promising a sleeker, more modern version of The Bachelors than we’ve seen in past seasons.

Finally, the promos show a more dynamic, less linear path to love, for both our Bachelors and the girls in the mansion. As we’ve seen, there are girls who reject our Bachies, and some who may be keen to switch Bachelors along the way.

All in all, it’s set to be an exciting season, and with the first promos introducing the women vying for our Bachelors’ hearts dropping, it’s time to get to know them.

One of the women vying for Felix’s heart on The Bachelors Australia this year is 26-year-old Abigail, from NSW.

Energetic and vivacious, Abigail lives life like a Duracell bunny, always on the go.

Priding herself on being a yes woman, Abigail always sees the best in everyone, which makes sense, because she values kindness in people highly, and is passionate about making the world a kinder place for all.

Of course, being a ‘yes woman’ can have its downsides, and it’s one of the reasons Abigail has spent some time remaining single recently.

“I really wanted to spend some time rebuilding myself and ascertaining what makes me happy as an individual, as I have a habit of prioritising other people over my own needs,” she explained in a press statement.

And while she’s “had a great time being single”, Abigail felt like it was “time to form some deeper connections”, which is one of the reasons she applied for The Bachelors Australia.

“I hate the current age we live in where we judge potential partners on five photos,” Abigail said. “I fall in love with people’s character, so far prefer to meet someone in real life. Having been consistently unlucky in love, I decided it was time to bring in the professionals.”

When it comes to her life outside of romance and The Bachelors Australia, Abigail has plenty of empathetic people to call friends, but now, she’s looking for the Prince Charming who will lead to her happily ever after. Of course, any man who’s a good fit for Abigail will have to live up to the high standards set by those already in Abigail’s life — will Felix be up to the challenge?

To win her over, Felix might want to engage with some of Abigail’s hobbies, which include getting active, embarking on fun adventures, getting up early to watch the sunrise, and pushing herself to her limits.

Having been in love before, Abigail knows that it’s “the most wonderful feeling in the world”, and now, she’s hoping that The Bachelors Australia — and Felix! — are what she’s looking for.

“I have been lucky enough to have three partners that I have loved,” she said of her past loves. “Hopefully the philosophy that you only have three loves in your life is not true…”

Will fourth time be the charm for Abigail and Felix? Only time will tell! Until then…

The Bachelors Australia premieres on January 9, only on 10 and 10 Play on Demand.
