Ted Lasso, the American sports comedy-drama series that became a runaway hit, is coming back for a third season. To celebrate its triumphant return to the small screen on March 15, 2023, Mae, the loveable pub owner and passionate AFC Richmond superfan played by Annette Badland, is hosting three stays at The Crown & Anchor pub in London.
Located in Richmond — right around the corner from Ted’s apartment — the English pub (real name: The Prince’s Head) is a gathering place for football fans and locals alike. It also happens to be the unofficial meeting place of AFC Richmond players and coaches on the show.
“The Crown & Anchor is an essential fixture for AFC Richmond — it’s where friends, colleagues and teammates come together to celebrate our triumphs or cope with the agony of relegation,” said host Mae.
“That’s why I’m pleased to host guests (and take the night off!). Time to give others the opportunity to experience the same camaraderie and sense of community that Coach Lasso inspires. After all, we’re Richmond ‘til we die!”
Included in the overnight stay are a pub dinner from The Prince’s Head, the chance to cheer on the local Richmond teams, decked out in AFC Richmond gear, a competitive round of darts, or a go at getting the highest score on the pinball machine, and the chance to test your vocal cords at karaoke. Ted’s favourite table in the pub will also be reserved for guests, who dare to challenge fellow guests to a round of chess.
For true fans of the show, you can even try those biscuits and enjoy them over some English tea (or as Ted calls it “garbage water).”
