The year has been anything but ordinary, and to celebrate its conclusion, Sydney is getting an extraordinary new bar.
Flying high above Sydney, Hendrick’s Gin’s ‘Most Unusual Balloon Bar in the Sky’ is coming this December to Darling Harbour, and for one day only, is offering gin cocktails with a view like no other over the Sydney Harbour and glittering skyline.
“This summer’s most exclusive bar will offer Sydneysiders the opportunity to escape the conventional and embrace the delectable, enjoying Hendrick’s world-famous gin as they experience a divine view of the exquisite sights of Sydney,” Hendrick’s said in a press release.
“Guests will also enjoy a hamper of Hendrick’s-themed goodies to pay homage to Hendrick’s hero partner, the humble cuke, as they grace Sydney skies.”
By some complete miracle, the once-in-a-lifetime bar experience is absolutely free, however, the challenge comes in nabbing a spot aboard the balloon basket.
The bar is open on December 5 and 6 and will be serving drinks from 3pm until 9pm only across those two days. Those interested must book a spot online, with reservations opening at 9am AEDT on Monday, November 30. It’s first-come, first-serve, so we’d advise you set a reminder right now to avoid disappointment.
Amazing if you’re able to nab a spot, but for those who may miss out, Hendrick’s has sorted out a pretty sweet consolation prize.
On December 5 and 6, thirsty bar-goers can visit the Hendrick’s Cucumber Bar situated at Tumbalong Park in Darling Harbour and collect a ‘Tini Martini’. The pint-sized glass can be brought to a number of Sydney venues, including PS40, Helm Bar, The Barbershop, Café Del Mar, Planar, Prince of York, The Swinging Cat and Champagne Bar at the Sofitel, to be redeemed for a free Hendrick’s gin and tonic.
“It’s not a Hendrick’s Gin affair without the extraordinary. We have gone above and beyond to bring Sydneysiders a spectacle from the street to the sky in the most unusual style,” says Luke Sanderson, brand ambassador for Hendricks Gin.
“Adding whimsy and wonder is what we do. We hope Sydneysiders will join our celebration of the unusual and raise a glass to celebrate a summer like none other.”
