Not sure about you, but my “isolation style” has really deteriorated over the last few days. I’m fine with it, because looking flash is low on my priority list right now, but it’s just something I’ve noticed.
I started out my days WFH wearing cute outfits in an attempt to keep up some normality in my morning routine. I even wore jeans on day two (what was I trying to prove?!), but it’s day 10 now and the best I could muster was a pair of Nike sports leggings and an oversized Champion jumper — an improvement to the thermal tights I sported on day six.
Like I said, I couldn’t care less about my appearance right now. And Zoom calls mean my co-workers only see me from the waist up (read: no pants Fridays), but I can’t help but think I’d feel more professional and more put together if I had a more stylish isolation wardrobe. You know, clothes still comfy enough for all-day wear, but something that made me feel more cohesive and “cool” while working from home.
I’d have likely spent a couple of hours browsing online stores tonight to find the kind of chic trackies and loungewear I’m referring to, but I’m going to do it right now instead and call it “work”, just in case any of you felt like you needed this virtual shopping trip, too.
Cotton Citizen
The influencer-approved Californian brand creates LA cool loungewear and tracksuits for both men and women in a range of flattering silhouettes and cosy fabrics. Lately, we’re all about the tye-dye printed pieces inspired by the Cali deserts, though we’d happily accept a wardrobe of Cotton Citizen in all shades to see us through self-isolation.
Everlane
Though everything at Everlane is designed for long-wear and comfort, the label’s new Perform leggings are light as air, seamless and are made from 68% recycled Nylon, so they’re as easy on the environment as they are sitting on your body.
Pair with a hoodie or jumper in a similar shade from the brand’s range of sweaters, and you’ve got a Zoom-approved monochrome look that’s ready to have you rolling into a post-work workout.
Sporty and Rich
Sporty and Rich garments are made in the USA, so it’s no wonder the brand’s aesthetic appears almost like a ’90s track and field uniform. Only instead of high school team names, the retro-designed graphics generally spell out uplifting messages around health.
Our fave tee? “Be Nice. Get Lots of Sleep. Drink Plenty of Water.”
Bassike
Made for outside wear, yes, but Bassike‘s range undeniably preferences comfort above all else. With cosy jersey fabric and quality cotton that’s both breathable and lightweight, the Australian-made garments are perfect for wearing around the house.
Etre Cecil
Cult French-inspired London brand Etre Cecil is known for its colour-blocking tracksuits and graphic tongue-in-cheek tees. Fun and playful yet crafted from quality fabrics, the pieces from this brand will see you through isolation and then some.
Cotton On Body
A post-work wine in Cotton On Body’s super soft loungewear is the only party we want to be having right now. The brand’s cosy, matching sets are both affordable and velvet soft, yet look impossibly chic together. Add a few pieces of jewellery, and the look is complete.
