A Limited Edition Splatoon 3-Themed Switch OLED Is Coming, and We’re In Love

To celebrate the launch of Splatoon 3, Nintendo is releasing a limited edition Splatoon Switch OLED featuring artwork inspired by the colourful team shooter.

The limited edition console will include a custom set of blue and yellow gradient Joy-Con controllers. The subtle gradient on these really elevates the design from cute to super stylish. The Joy-Cons also feature Splatoon 3 characters and the game’s signature paint splatters, but these are layered under the gradients so they don’t stand out or disrupt the colour scheme.

The console will also come with a white, graffiti-themed Nintendo Switch dock with a splatter of bright yellow paint in the bottom left.

Nintendo is also releasing a matching carrying case and, for those who prefer playing with a traditional controller, a Splatoon Switch Pro controller featuring matching colours and artwork.

The release date for the Splatoon 3 Switch is August 26, just ahead of the Splatoon 3 game launch on September 9. The game will feature chaotic 4v4 matches between teams who are trying to paint the map with their colour ink. There’s also a single-player campaign which will pit you against the unruly Octarians to discover the secrets of a mysterious place called Alterna and the Fuzzy Ooze. Splatoon 3 will also introduce the next iteration of the co-op Salmon Run mode, where you team up with friends to fend off waves of bosses.

Of course, the Splatoon 3 Switch will also include all the features and benefits of the regular Switch OLED, like a 7-inch screen that’s brighter and more vivid than the regular and Lite consoles (which is perfect for playing a colourful game like Splatoon 3), 64GB of internal storage and enhanced audio in handheld and tabletop mode.
