The 2019 ARIA Awards have come and gone, and while the music industry is waking up with the mother of all hangovers (or still just getting to bed), it’s time to reflect on the night that was.
While some of the highlights of the evening included Australian boy band Human Nature being inducted to the ARIA hall of fame and British pop sensation Dua Lipa’s sexy performance of Don’t Start Now — there was one person whose appearance stole the entire show.
The lovable, self-titled “bogan” Sophie Monk.
From the get-go, it was clear that the former Bachelorette was about to make this her night when she was photographed prior to the event with her own personal wind machines (leaf blowers).
Dressed in a stunning custom-made Velani dress, the blonde bombshell then walked the red carpet accompanied by her personal wind machines.
But the fun didn’t stop there.
Inside the ceremony, Wildlife Warrior Robert Irwin came on stage to present an award with a python, inviting Sophie Monk to come up and hold the reptile.
Always fearless, the former-Bardot band member obliged, taking hold of the snake around her shoulders.
It was here that the most iconic moment of the evening took place — our girl Sophie began singing Slave 4 U by Britney Spears.
“I’ve been waiting for this moment my whole life, like Britney Spears,” Monk told the audience.
“I feel like the bogan Britney Spears.”

While on stage to present the award for Best Country Album — a category no one can understand why she was chosen for — Sophie decided to question whether it was appropriate to sing Tina Turner’s Nutbush City Limits before breaking into some super-cringe dance moves.
Honestly, the whole night belonged to Monk — and it’s moments like these that we truly appreciate what a national treasure she is.
