Angelina Jordan’s “Hypnotic” Version Of An Elton John Song Is Mesmerising

Angelina Jordan

If there’s one thing that gets us emotional, it’s someone getting the Gold Buzzer on America’s Got Talent.

The confetti, the powerful music, judges and audiences screaming with excitement and of course the tears — how can you not love every moment?

But when we heard Norwegian singer, Angelina Jordan’s, rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody, centre stage on the hit US show America’s Got Talent: The Champions, we were absolutely BLOWN AWAY by her incredible voice.

Judge Heidi Klum obviously thought so too, awarding her the first Gold Buzzer of the season and prompting a share from Queen themselves on Twitter.

“Wow! What a rendition of #Bohemian Rhapsody,” they wrote.

Before we go any further, don’t take our word for it. You must listen. (Story continues)

Then, making it all the way to the finals, Jordan performed a rousing rendition of Elton John’s Goodbye Yellowbrick Road and it is goosebump-inducing stuff.

Accompanied by just a piano, the performer had the crowd on their feet and after finishing her performance, judge Klum said, “You make your Golden Buzzer mama so proud, I have to say.”

“I can feel it all the way down into my bones that you are a superstar in the making. I mean, we’re seeing it right in front of our eyes. The melancholy that you put into that Elton John song was incredible.”

Judge Howie Mendel was also blown away by Jordan’s “hypnotic” voice.

“First of all, at any age, but especially 13. This is so amazing, and one word comes to mind when I listen to you, and that’s ‘hypnotic.’ I just get drawn into your sound and your performance, and nothing else around me even matters.”

“That song must be 40, 50 years old now?” Simon Cowell added. “But you made it sound current, relevant. … Great soul, great talent, and you’ve made this final way, way better because you’ve set a real standard here.”

The 13-year-old has some serious singing chops — and is an absolute dead ringer for the late Amy Winehouse. But it’s not the first time we’ve heard her before.

Five years ago, Jordan won Norway’s Got Talent at just eight years old, when she wowed judged (and Norway) with her rendition of Gloomy Sunday and Fly Me To The Moon.

Following her win, Jordan sung on Norway’s TV2 in a video which went viral across the globe, with her own rendition of What a Difference A Day Makes, originally sung by Dinah Washington.

In 2016, Avicii chose Jordan for his worldwide Volvo commercial campaign, featuring her singing Nina Simone’s Feeling Good.

And if her talent is not enough to leave you gobsmacked, she’s also a published author — having written and illustrated a children’s book and making her the youngest author in Norwegian history.

Before her performance on AGT, she also appeared on Little Big Shots in the US.

Some of her songs are already available on Spotify and they’re worth a listen.

We predict a huge future for this talented girl.

The winner of America’s Got Talent will be announced on Monday 17 February.
