Regardless which city gets an F1 takeover, you can always bank on it being a special occasion. But, Singapore kicks into another gear during the F1 weekend with a packed calendar of Grand Prix-inspired experiences you can indulge in. From 13 – 22 September, enjoy race themed parties, special events and limited time pop-ups as part of Grand Prix Season Singapore (GPSS)!
Here’s a curated guide to discover some of the highlights during the Singapore Grand Prix.
High Octane Parties
Singapore’s vibrant nightlife kicks into high gear during GPSS with the Amber Lounge. Rub shoulders with A-list figures and F1 personalities, all while enjoying free-flowing champagne. Expect performances by international musicians, theatrical cabaret and even cirque-themed shows for a night to remember.
Alternatively, hit up a true Singapore institution, Zouk, where world-renowned DJs will keep the adrenaline high with thumping beats all night long. Or head beachside with Tipsy Unicorn where the VIP Lounge will be open to all Grand Prix ticket holders. Be sure to check out the 360° Beachfront Camera and race-themed cocktails.
Exclusive Race Week Drinks
The good folks at Singapore’s first gin distillery, Tanglin Gin, have come up with an exclusive ‘GPSS Tropical Gin’ – celebrating the spirit of this momentous week. This limited-edition beauty boasts a unique label and a refreshing tropical twist, highlighting pineapple and mango flavours. Punters can pick one up at The Tanglin Gin Jungle and enjoy it in the special Turbo & Tonic cocktail throughout the race weekend. Not only that, but F1 ticket holders get happy hour prices on all Tanglin Gin drinks.
If gin is not your spirit of choice, check out The Grande Whisky Museum for seven bespoke Grand Prix-inspired cocktails while marvelling at a specially curated exhibition of supercars. Alternatively, head to Little Island Brewing Co for their limited edition ‘High Octane’ Vertigo Double IPA, paired perfectly with their Charcoal Pizza. And just for that extra kick, you chase it down with a Boilermaker shot.
Limited Time Experiences and Pop-Ups
The LEGO Group will be creating and unveiling the LEGO Mercedes-AMG F1 car which is made with over 190,000 LEGO bricks. Alongside this life-sized LEGO build will be plenty of race themed activities for everyone to participate.
If you’re after something unique, climb onboard a vintage Vespa sidecar (the same sidecars used by legendary world champion Damon Hill) for a night race season tour by Singapore Sidecars. These sidecars will be zipping along the outskirts of the F1 street circuit. They’ll travel through cultural precincts, Kampong Gelam and Little India before ending at Clarke Quay, Singapore’s party central.
But, if you’re after something even more unique, try your hand out at Singapore’s first-ever water paddle sports night, #PaddleSG Night Race Extravaganza, presented by the Singapore Canoe Federation. Watch athletes battle each other on Singapore’s waterways, just earshot from the F1 action. Expect a family friendly carnival and try-outs for various paddle sports such as kayaks and stand-up paddle boards.
