Sharon Strzelecki’s Dance Video During Iso Is Peak Sharon Strzelecki

Sharon Strezelecki

“Noice, strong, courageous.”

Sharon Strzelecki (Magda Szubanski) is not taking the global pandemic sitting down, in fact, the netball fanatic is dancing her way through isolation.

In a new video posted to her social media accounts (well, Magda’s), Strzelecki enlists Australian healthcare workers to perform a “pandemic version” of Soft Cell’s Tainted Love — with some very fitting lyrics.

“This COVID bug you’ve given, you took all my PP [personal protective] equipment. You even took my mask and that’s not all, COVID bug!” she sings, before adding: “The germs you share, seem to go everywhere and I don’t think that’s noice, because then I toss and turn and I can’t sleep at night.”

In her very familiar Australian twang, Strzelecki’s rendition of the song is accompanied by some killer dance moves as well as some fun videos shared by Australian medical teams.

“Noice, strong, courageous. A special Sharon shout out to all our healthcare workers, on the frontline and behind the scenes,” Szubanski captioned an Instagram post which has now been viewed over 76k times (at the time of publication).

“To paraphrase Sir Elton John: “I know it’s not much, but it’s the best I can do. My gift is my dance and… this one’s for you.”

Sharon’s backup dancers include medical professionals from Footscray Hospital, Prahran East Medical Centre, Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and Ambulance Victoria.

And if you’re reading this as a medical professional and want to join in the fun, then Strzelecki wants you.

“Health workers please send us vids of you dancing to this and we will update and add them in,” she said.

Noice! Different. Unus-ual.

Here’s hoping Strezelecki can get back on the netball court soon!
