Watch Them While You Can: All the Series That Will Be Ending in 2021

In 2021 we will hopefully have the freedom to spend less time at home and more time being entertained in cinemas, restaurants, galleries and beyond.

However, even if the pandemic is conquered and we are able to return to our pre-COVID lives, you may still want to indulge in a little binge session or two with these series that will take their curtain call in 2021.

Dead to Me

Dead to Me starring Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini will finish after its third season on Netflix. The critically acclaimed traumedy tells the story of Jen (Applegate) and Judy (Cardellini), two very different women who became unlikely best friends in the wake of a hit and run accident.

Dear White People

The Netflix original series became required watching in 2020 as audiences, galvanised by the murder of George Floyd, sought to gain a deeper understanding of racial injustice. The college comedy-drama will finish after its fourth season for which all of the main cast, including Logan Browning and Brandon P. Bell, will return.

The Expanse

The hugely popular sci-fi series will take its final orbit on Amazon Prime Video after six successful seasons. The series, which is based on a series of novels by James S. A. Corey, will end its run without cast member Cas Anvar who was stood down after being the subject of multiple sexual misconduct allegations. It is unknown when the final season will be filmed due to ongoing delays caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Younger

After seven emotionally charged — and fabulously styled seasons — Younger will come to an end in 2021 with the final episodes airing on Stan.

The popular romantic comedy series, which was created by Sex and the City’s Darren Star,  revolves around 40-year-old Liza Miller (Sutton Foster) who pretends she is in her twenties to score a job at a New York publishing house after her divorce.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine

The beloved “Nine-Nine” are leaving the precinct after eight hilarious seasons.

Starring Andy Samberg,  Stephanie Beatriz, Terry Crews and Andre Braugher, this Golden Globe winning police procedural sitcom has kept us laughing while also having a whole lot of heart.

Brooklyn Nine Nine has previously drawn praise for tackling the issue of racial profiling with its season four episode ‘Moo Moo’ in which Crews, as Sergeant Terry Jeffords, is stopped by a fellow police officer who finds him suspicious as he is in plain clothes and in a “nice” neighbourhood.
