Semi Permanent, the largest and most enduring creativity and design festival in the southern hemisphere, is headed to Carriageworks next month, so design lovers, artists, and all-around creatives listen up.
The festival brings together some of the world’s most influential and innovative creative thinkers to share their insights and experiences across various fields, including design, technology, art, advertising, film, fashion, and music. Previous speakers have included creative legends like Aries SemiMoross, Daniel Arsham, Gia Coppola, Michel Gondry, Nabil Elderkin, Taika Waititi, Tom Sachs, and Tony Hawk.
Semi Permanent is not just a speaker event, however. The festival also features an Art & Design Fair, showcasing the work of independent publishers, large-scale publishing houses, art galleries, independent artists, ceramicists, poster designers, and digital creators across Australia. This provides a platform for a broad range of creators to showcase their wares to the Australasian creative community.
Building on the success of its previous years, this year’s Art & Design Fair promises an even more extensive collection of vendors, including Astrophe Magazine, BTWNLNS, Evi. O Studio, Institute of Modern Art, Journals, MCA Store, Perimeter, Powerhouse Publishing, Soft Stir, and Voluptuary Ceramics, among many others.

With a world-class lineup of speakers and a fantastic Art & Design Fair, the festival offers an incredible opportunity to learn, connect, and be inspired by some of the world’s most innovative and influential creatives.
This year’s Semi Permanent Festival of Creativity & Design will take place on Thursday, June 1, from 9 am – 9 pm and Friday, June 2, from 9 am-4 pm at Carriageworks.
