Schitt’s Creek has been the break-out television series of 2020, even though it was in its sixth and final season.
Thanks to being picked up Netflix, Dan and Eugene Levy’s story about a family who goes bankrupt has become one of the most popular comedies ever.
At the 72nd Annual Emmy Awards, Schitt’s Creek swept up every single big category comedy award including for Best Comedy, Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy — Annie Murphy, Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy — Dan Levy, Best Actress in a Comedy — Catherine O’Hara, Best Actor in a Comedy — Eugene Levy, Directing for a Comedy Series — Andrew Cividino and Daniel Levy and Writing for a Comedy Series — Dan Levy.

The cast and crew also made history, sweeping up the entire first seven statues and the fact that the cast is celebrating in a social distanced affair in Canada — there will be a lot of celebrating tonight!
Dan used his speech for the final award to make a political statement about voting in the US election.
“Our show at its core is about the transformational effects of love and acceptance, and that is something we need more of now than we ever needed before,” he said.
Schitt’s Creek is streaming on Netflix.
