The ‘Rush’ Rules Are a Tad Complicated — Here’s a Simple Explainer

It’s official: Rush rules. It stars fascinating locales, a wholesome cast, and David Genat as the host. What more could you possibly want?

However, Rush has a super complicated set of rules, which makes the series both compelling for its regulars and intimidating for its new audience members. If you were to land on Rush while channel surfing, you might have no idea what is happening.

So, to help the Rush newbies become Rush veterans, here are the rules of the game. May they make your bingeing experience a slay.

The Rules of Rush

Part One: The Drop Zone

At the start of each challenge, Rush’s three teams are dropped into some of Earth’s most intense cultural festivals and exciting locations. During the drop, these team members are blindfolded and wearing noise-cancelling headphones. They then remove this headgear and feel the “Rush” (Get it?) of the environment around them.

Part Two: Watches

After getting drop zoned, each team will receive a message on their watches. These messages are from David and contain a cryptic clue about where he is. Rush’s teams then race to find said dude.

Part Three: The Host Brief

Once each team locates David, he’ll tell them some info about the country that they’re in. He’ll also provide them with a dossier containing some clues about how to discover the Escape Zone. The last team to arrive at an Escape Zone is forced to send one of their mates home.

Part Four: The Missions

Before going to the Escape Zone, each team has to complete a mission or two. These missions can be anything from skydiving to going on a hike.

Part Five: Check-Ins

During their travels, each team will need to find their way to a specific accommodation each night. Getting to accommodation is a mini-race. The order in which the teams arrived determines the order that they can leave.

Part Six: The Escape Zone

At the end of the day, it’s all about the Escape Zone. If your team is last to this location, you have to eliminate someone from your group.
