June is Pride Month — a time for LGBTQIA people to celebrate while also raising awareness about the issues currently faced by the community. This month also pays tribute to the Stonewall Riots, which took place in June 1969.
To commemorate Pride Month each year, certain beauty and fashion brands release limited-edition products — featuring rainbow designs — and in most cases, a percentage of sales are donated to LGBTQIA charities.
Celebrate Pride Month and support the work of the LGBTQIA organisations with a limited edition purchase.
? Ralph Lauren
Iconic American brand Ralph Lauren has teamed up with a few famous faces including Schitt’s Creek star Dan Levy and Hollywood’s Jeremy Pope to release its Pride Month collection.
The classic Ralph Lauren Polo Shirt has had a makeover and now includes a rainbow-coloured collar. There’s also a Pride Fleece Sweater and two other T-shirt designs available to shop.
When you buy the Pride Fleece Sweater, the Big Pony Cotton Tee or the Pride Cotton Graphic Tee, 25% of the purchase price will be donated to the Stonewall Community Foundation, which in turn benefits an international network of LGBTQIA+ organisations.
Meanwhile, 100% of the purchase price of the Ralph Lauren Pride Polo Shirt will be donated to the same foundation. The Pride Collection is only available at selected stores, so head to the Ralph Lauren website to find out where you can find it.
? Converse
In its fifth year of celebrating Pride in the form of a collection, Converse has released four Pride shoe designs as well as two T-shirts featuring rainbow stripes and lairy sequins.
The proceeds of this year’s collection will benefit a handful of organisations including the It Gets Better Project [IGBP], Ali Forney Center, BAGLY and OUT MetroWest.
You can buy the Chuck Taylor All Star 70 Pride Flippable Sequin High Top online for $130.
? Morphe
Morphe has released a makeup collection called ‘Free to Be’, which was “created to inspire you to shine your light and help shape a brighter future for LGBTQ+ babes everywhere”.
100% of net proceeds from the sales of the ‘Free to Be’ collection purchased through the Morphe website during Pride Month will be donated to GLSEN to help create safe and supportive school environments for K-12 students — with a minimum of $50,000 to be donated.
The collection includes an Eye & Face Brush Set for $35, a Lip Gloss for $14 and a Continuous Setting Mist for $23. The 10G Glsen Up Artistry Palette is the standout product of the collection and only costs $26.
? Calvin Klein
Calvin Klein has launched its #ProudInMyCalvins campaign to celebrate Pride Month, which includes a capsule collection of underwear and jumpers adorned with understated rainbows.
The profits of this year’s collection will be donated to OutRight Action International’s COVID-19 LGBTIQ Global Emergency Fund, which offers resources to various LGBTQ+ organisations helping those impacted by COVID-19 around the world.
The Pride All-Over Print Relaxed Hoodie by Calvin Klein is a particular favourite and can be purchased online for $189.
? Volley
Iconic brand Volley has released its own limited-edition Pride merch in the form of shoes and socks. “Whether you’re off to Mardi Gras, showing your pride at work or being a supportive ally, these shoes are made to help everyone on their journey,” the website reads.
Volley has pledged to donate $5 from every pair sold to the Wear it Purple charity, an organisation that “strives to foster supportive, safe, empowering and inclusive environments for rainbow young people.”
The Pride Heritage High shoes cost $75, while the Pride Mid Socks are $14.99 and you can find these on the Volley website.
? Face Halo
Face Halo recently launched a Pride product called ‘Love is Love’. Inside the holographic packaging is three limited-edition rainbow Face Halos that feature the original technology that quickly and gently removes makeup and cleanses skin.
While these limited-edition products are damn cute, Face Halo has also announced that 5% of the proceeds will be donated to The Trevor Project — a foundation that supports LGBTQIA youth. Yay!
You can purchase the limited-edition ‘Love Is Love’ pack via the Face Halo website for $35.
