Elevate Your Girls’ Night Out with Parisian Flair at Pont Dining Room

Forget the tired old routine of wine and cheese at someone’s apartment. Ditch the dimly-lit dive bars and bypass the fight for a decent table at that trendy new spot everyone’s buzzing about. Your next girls’ night out deserves an upgrade. Preferably at Pont Dining Room, the polished new restaurant inside Sydney’s iconic Intercontinental Treasury Building.

Pont bucks the trend of Sydney’s cramped, moody restaurants. Instead, it celebrates modern Australian cuisine with global flair and French interiors. Think bluefin tuna with a zingy finger lime kick and kimchi fries for a fermented twist.

As for the interiors, French salon comes to mind, with blue walls, arched white windows, and deep blue banquette seating. It’s chic, it’s understated, and perfect for any occasion be it a business lunch or dinner party. The private 12-seat dining room is tucked away for those special occasions or the semi-private dining area, which fits 25 people is great for wine tastings and big gatherings.

Chef Kanishka Amunugama, a culinary rockstar hailing from Adelaide’s Mount Lofty House, curated the menu to highlight the best of New South Wales produce from paddock to sea. Think Bangalow Sweet Pork with a playful wink of Vegemite butter, a nostalgic nod to Aussie childhoods.

“We wanted to create a menu that maximises the potential of every ingredient, leaving no element wasted and spotlight sustainable sourced, seasonal produce,” he says.

Feeling indecisive? The feed me menus are a great place to start, especially for larger groups. Both menus feature the signature crumpets and a few rock oysters with yuzu mignonette to share. There are three entrees, three mains, and a dessert, all served family-style.

And because no girls’ night out is complete without something sweet, the Hunted and Gathered Chocolate Mousse is a chocoholic’s dream, while the Ricotta Mille Feuille offers layers of caramel and a touch of orange blossom.

Wash it all down with an impressive selection of organic and biodynamic wines, or explore the world of Aussie-inspired cocktails. Sip on a Pont Sour, a unique blend of Uzu Gin, Davidson plum, and Junmai sake, or take a walk on the wild side with the Garden Walk—a refreshing concoction featuring Los Arcos Tequila, tangy kiwi, native bush mint, and eucalyptus.

“We’re excited to welcome guests into the new restaurant. Whether that is for a catch-up with an old friend, a business lunch or a celebratory dinner, guests can expect an elevated yet welcoming dining experience from start to finish,” states Amunugama.

If you’re wondering why it’s called Pont, it’s actually the French word for “bridge,” and fittingly, the restaurant is located on Bridge Street, in one of Sydney’s treasured sandstone buildings.
