You Can Now Buy Nike Sneakers to Match With Your New PS5

This isn’t the first time that Nike has partnered up with PlayStation, but this is definitely their biggest collab yet.

Nike, Sony and NBA superstar Paul George have come together on this new sneaker, the PG 5, with help from the PS5 designer Yujin Morisawa.

According to Sony, the “colours of the shoe are heavily inspired by the industrial design of the PS5”, complete with the new edition PlayStation’s signature circle, square, cross and triangle shapes woven into the materials.

There’s also a PlayStation logo on the tongue of the right shoe, and to keep the symmetry going, Paul George’s PG logo is found on the left tongue.

It’s been two years since Nike and PlayStation’s last sneaker collaboration, the PG 2.5, which also drew inspiration from PlayStation’s design elements, however, this sneaker was more inspired by the original console.

The PG 5 shoes are going on sale in select regions on May 14, and following on from the incredibly high demand of the PS5, you’d better get in quick.

According to Nike’s website, the PlayStation x Nike PG5 will be priced at USD$120 and will be one of the biggest launches of the year.

Footwear specialist website The Sole Supplier seems to support this claim, revealing that the pre-release demand for the new Nike PG5 PlayStation 5 release spiked by 8,900% compared to previous Nike collabs.

If you’re interested, Sony says you should keep your eye on the Nike SNKRS app or local Nike website for more information on release dates and availability.
