Grab your picnic blanket because Moonlight Cinema is back again this summer, kicking off on November 26, 2021 in Brisbane and at a new venue in Adelaide before heading to Sydney, Western Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.
Expect a line-up of new releases including Dear Evan Hansen, based on the award-winning musical; ’60s horror film Last Night In Soho; Netflix’s action-comedy Red Notice, starring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot; Marvel Studio’s Venom: Let There Be Carnage; as well as family hits Clifford the Big Red Dog and Disney’s Encanto.
Also on the line-up are Hollywood blockbusters you may have been missed due to lockdowns, including Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings with Simu Liu and Awkwafina; Black Widow, starring Scarlett Johansson; Cruella with Emma Stone; and Free Guy with Ryan Reynolds.
And, for those who love Christmas movies, you’ll have your choice of festive favourites: Love Actually, The Holiday, Home Alone, The Grinch That Stole Christmas and Die Hard.
“After a pretty tough and isolated few months for many Australians, we are particularly excited for the return of Moonlight Cinema,” says John Boero, General Manager of Entertainment Operations at Event Hospitality and Entertainment.
“Moonlight is such a quintessential Australian experience, and it’s going to feel all the more special this summer to have family and friends reunite over picnics and films at our beautiful parkland venues.”
While each Moonlight Cinema will differ slightly, expect food trucks with delicious bites, bars with tasty drinks and bean beds for you and — in all locations apart from Perth’s, which isn’t dog-friendly — your pooch to enjoy.
All locations will also have a Connoisseur Lounge, which comes with a reserved bean bed in a dedicated area, as well as an ice cream on arrival. AAMI Gold Grass (in all locations apart from Western Sydney) will feature a deluxe bean bed in a prime viewing area with waiter service.
And, finally, the top package Tia Maria Platinum Experience (available in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth) will include food and drinks, delivered straight to your seats, including a grazing box by QT Hotels with locally-sourced charcuterie, Parlour Lane popcorn and Tia Maria Matchatini or Espresso Martini cocktails.
