Mecca Stores Reopen Across the Country With New Safety Measures

Mecca Max

Great news: beauty retailer Mecca has announced the reopening of a number of its stores across Australia and New Zealand.

As with many other retail stores, Mecca closed its doors many weeks ago in order to prioritise customer, staff and community safety in light of COVID-19. While we’ve been able to purchase products via the Mecca website in the interim, visiting a store has its own unique experience.

In order to safely reopen, Mecca has implemented a number of safety protocols including capping the number of people in the store at one time, installing sanitiser stations and a no-touch service policy, according to a recent Mecca Brands LinkedIn post.

Customers will also be required to have temperature checks before entering the store.

“As an added health and safety measure, we will be temperature-checking all our store team members and customers prior to entry,” the Mecca website reads. “The advice we have been given is that temperature readings should be lower than 37.4 degrees to ensure a safe environment.”

And, all staff members will now be wearing transparent face visors while working.

“Use of the visors means that our team can still be on hand to help our customers as they move around the store, assisting with testers and answering questions as they come up,” the Mecca statement said.

According to New Zealand publication, Stuff, customers visiting a Mecca store in NZ were also asked for their details before entering (for contact tracing purposes), were asked to sanitise their hands and were paired up with a “personal shopper” to assist them during their shop.

Basically, it sounds like Mecca is taking every precaution possible to make it a pleasant and safe shopping experience for everyone.

If you’d rather not shop in person, Mecca is still offering its virtual shopping experiences including Call & Collect, which allows you to book a time for a Mecca team member to call you. Then, you can place an order with said team member and organise a time for contactless collection.

Otherwise, Mecca is always still offering its various virtual appointments including beauty, skin and makeup consults via FaceTime.
