MasterChef Australia: Fans & Favourites Has Announced Its Return So Time to Sharpen Those Knives

MasterChef Australia is responsible for a number of big food personalities in Australia, and now, the beloved reality TV show is returning for its 14th season.

Channel 10 recently announced that the series will be premiering on Monday, April 18 and we’re already giddy with excitement.

Using people’s love of food to transform and inspire, the show has built a name for itself not just Down Under, but around the globe as well. This year, the competition is going to be even more special with 12 of MasterChef Australia’s favourite contestants returning to compete against 12 fresh new faces.

Julie Goodwin, Alvin Quah, Sarah Todd and Michael Weldon are just a few of the big names making a comeback and Channel 10 has released a brand new first look into what lies ahead. Standing at the helm and judging the creations will be Melissa Leong, Jock Zonfrillo and Andy Allen.

“We are back for another action-packed season of thrills, chills and kitchen spills … we couldn’t be more pumped,” said Leong in a statement. “Add to that a handful of new MasterChef foodies going head-to-head with beloved characters from the MasterChef universe over the years… and then, of course, there’s JULIE GOODWIN!

“If ever there was a time to feel connected through food, it’s now: MasterChef Australia is the hit of nostalgia, inspiration and feel-good fun we need as a nation, and Jock, Andy and I couldn’t be more excited to serve up a generous and heartfelt serving to audiences in 2022.”

In 2021, the series officially crowned Justin Narayan as its 2021 winner, with the Youth Pastor from WA taking home the title, and the $250,000 prize money, beating out fellow finalists Pete Campbell and Kishwar Chowdury.

‘I just took the competition one cook at a time and tried to do my best with whatever cook I had in front of me, and then just went from there,” Narayan told The Latch following his win. “And that kind of landed me where I am now. So I thought that was a good approach.”
