Guess who’s bringing the heat to The Masked Singer 2023 judges’ panel? She’s Scary Spice and everything nice — Mel B aka Melanie Brown.

The former Spice Girl returns to her judge’s seat for another season on the Australian leg of the international franchise.

If you haven’t heard her story — here’s the rundown on The Masked Singer’s Mel B.

The Masked Singer 2023 Mel B

In the golden age of girl groups and boy bands, Mel B was 1/5 of Spice Girls, alongside Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Melanie Chisholm. During her time in the most successful female band in history, she was more affectionately known as Scary Spice.

Since the group’s split in 2000, Mel continues her journey as a television entertainer, author and regular reality TV presence. She’s appeared across multiple franchises like The Masked Singer, The X Factor and America’s Got Talent.

Away from concert stages and singing contests, Mel has also given acting a fair go — on the big screen in addition to the theatre. But it hasn’t always been screaming crowds and raging applause for the artist.

In 2018, the release of her book, Brutally Honest, Mel B opened up about her experience with abuse in her previous marriage to Stephen Belafonte. Her vulnerability was praised and she was named Patron of Women’s Aid the same year.

Last year, Mel was named as a judge on Network 10’s fourth season of The Masked Singer and is back as a panellist for 2023.

Will she successfully reveal who’s behind the masks? Find out on Mondays at 7.30pm, when The Masked Singer 2023 airs on 10 and 10 Play on Demand. Miss an episode? Catch up on 10 Play.
