Mariah Carey Drops Star-Studded “All I Want For Christmas Is You” Video

It’s been 25 years since Mariah Carey first blessed us with the iconic Christmas carol “All I Want For Christmas Is You”, a song that she wrote in just 15 minutes, because she is an indisputable legend.

The song’s power has only grown with every Christmas since its 1994 release, and finally hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 charts just last week.

To celebrate the song’s anniversary, all the celebs in the entire world (or so it seems) recorded themselves lip-syncing along to the track, and you really just have to see it to believe how many people are in it.

Here’s a quick, incomplete round up of just some of the names: Ryan Reynolds, Brandy, Katy Perry, Ruby Rose, Laverne Cox, Missy Elliott, Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta, Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian West, and that’s just in the opening lines!

Posting the link on Twitter, Mariah wrote that the video was “one of the best Christmas gifts [she] could ever have gotten”.

She added: “I am so thankful to all of my friends and favourite artists who participated in this video. You brought a huge smile to my face. THANK YOU!”

One notable appearance was that of Ariana Grande, who popped up to lip-sync the ad-libs through the bridge, effectively putting to rest the years of rumours that the two vocally blessed songstresses didn’t like one another.

After the video was released, Mimi and Ari began following one another on Instagram, and Mariah told Ari that she “loved” her part of the video.

Essentially, what we’re gonna need in 2020 is a Mariah x Ariana collab, k? Thank you!
