Margot Robbie knows how to make a showstopping red carpet appearance (you just need to look back at this year’s award season circuit with the Golden Globes and BAFTAs for proof).
A regular on the Oscars red carpet since 2015, the Australian actress never puts a foot wrong, and it seems she’s fallen back on a trusty outfit formula for this year’s 92nd Academy Awards.
While all the looks on this year’s red carpet have been pretty amazing, I always hang out to see what Margot wears. She’s always my fav. Maybe it’s the Aussie pride coming out. And I was so excited to see her step out today in a look that was reminiscent to her first Oscars red carpet appearance in 2015. My favourite of all her Oscar appearances.
You can see the looks side-by-side below, but to summarise, on both red carpets Margot opted for a bright red lip, sleek side-part, and interesting black gown. The key to wearing black on a red carpet is to opt for some interest. This year, her dress had black ribbon arm ties and a sweetheart neckline. In 2015? Sheer sleeves and a plunging neckline. Both looks were topped off with royal blue jewel accents.
