MAFS 2023: Sandy Is Ready to Put Her Fears Aside

Celebrating its 10th season, the new series of Married at First Sight put relationships to the test in ways they could never imagine as our new brides and grooms say “I do” to a complete stranger.

Twenty singles will meet for the first time at the altar on their wedding day after being matched by relationship experts John Aiken and Mel Schilling, and clinical sexologist Alessandra Rampolla. And we can’t wait for the drama!

The social experiment kicked off on Monday, January 30, at 7:30pm on Channel 9, and it premiered with a bang. We’ve also been teased with some honeymoons ranging from the deeply romantic to the extra-spicy and drama-filled, both interstate and overseas.

But that’s not all. A brand-new twist is going to send shockwaves through the experiment as we’ve never seen before, which will put couples to the ultimate test.

For now, here’s everything we know so far about the participants of MAFS 2023.

Sandy

Sandy is a dental hygienist from Victoria.

Despite being in her mid-thirties, she’s never been in a serious relationship and has had very little experience with men.

The 36-year-old grew up in a strict Indian household and her parents were huge on upholding the traditional values of Indian culture. That meant she was not allowed to mix with boys and had no male friends. She went to a girls’ school and studied dental nursing with women.

Sandy struggles with insecurities that come with the lack of dating experience and the fear of being used for “one thing”. Now she wants to fast-track her experience with someone who can respect her boundaries and help her overcome these fears.

With her parents still happily together in an arranged marriage, Sandy believes the MAFS experiment could work for her.
