A $2 Million Luxury Watch Advent Calendar Exists

Level up from boozy advent calendars and beauty advent calendars with a multi-million-dollar luxury watch advent calender from high-end watch marketplace, Chronext.

The Swiss group has announced a Christmas advent calendar so opulent, so lavish, that its value stands at €1.25 million or $2,042,397 AUD at the current conversion.

Unlike your usual choccie advent calendar, that’s made of flimsy plastic adorned in garishly bright cardboard, this baby is crafted from high-quality wood finished in a glossy black piano lacquer. Standing at 1.25m tall, it’s obviously much bigger than the advent calendars we’re used to.

The calendar features 24 illuminated doors, that for each day in the lead-up to Christmas, reveal a brand new luxury watch sitting upon a leather plinth. Each timepiece has been carefully curated by Chronext’s team of passionate watch specialists to please avid collectors and enthusiasts. There also appears to be chocolate treats behind each door.

While Chronext is inviting those interested to reach out and purchase the calendar, the brand is letting those at home play along by opening a new door on the calendar every day on Instagram. So far, it has revealed an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Double Balance Wheel, and a rare Patek Philippe Nautilus Ref. 3712.

While we prepare to live vicariously through the Chronext Instagram for the next 24 days, we’re also preparing to see timepieces from brands such as Rolex, Arnold & Son or Vacheron Constantin.

Chronext has also teased the reveal of an A. Lange & Söhne Richard Lange Jumping Seconds, of which there are only 100 in the world.

To the watch-lovers out there with a spare $2 million, you can register your interest for the luxury watch advent calendar now. We imagine it’d take a little while for the calendar to make its way over to Australia, but then again, playing catch-ups on opening the doors would make the purchase all the more fun.
