Australia’s favourite Mexican soda, Jarritos, has announced they’re bringing the popular passionfruit flavour to Australian shores, just in time for Cinco de Mayo. To help celebrate its arrival, Donut Papi has come up with a decadent, Jarritos passionfruit soda inspired doughnut creation that will be on sale for the week of Cinco de Mayo.

Extracted from real passionfruit, a sip of this tropical, sparkling, sweet, beverage will instantly transport your taste buds to Mexico. It will be the 10th flavour to be available to the Australian market, who have proven themselves huge fans of the natural fruit flavours the Mexican company provides; joining a selection that includes guava, grapefruit, watermelon, lime, pineapple, mandarin, mango, tamarind, and Mexican cola.

The decadent doughnut creation, ‘Passion Don Jarritos’ will feature a Passionfruit Jarritos Glaze, sprinkled with passionfruit seeds, toasted crumb, and fizzy sherbert—to replicate the refreshing “fizz” of the Jarritos soda. It all comes together with a passionfruit gel centre, with a pipette of Passionfruit Jarritos adding a touch of pizazz.

It will be available for $8.00, and every order comes with a complimentary bottle of the new Passionfruit, so you can enjoy the full flavour experience. The offer will be available for a limited time only, with supply refreshed daily, from Wednesday, May 5, until close of business on Wednesday, May 12, at both Donut Papi Redfern (34A Redfern St, Redfern) and Donut Papito Chippendale (28 Kensington St, Chippendale). Both stores are open 12-5 pm, Wednesday to Sunday (closed Mon/Tue).

Excitingly, Jarritos will be giving out x100 free Jarritos Passionfruit x Donut Papi ‘Passion Don Jarritos’ doughnut collabs, plus a complimentary Jarritos Passionfruit soda bottle, across both stores, on Wednesday, May 5, when doors open from 12 pm (while stocks last). There is a limit of one free Passion Don Jarritos doughnut collab and bottle of Jarritos Passionfruit per customer.

Across Mexican-food Sydney venues beyond Donut Papi, Jarritos will be keeping the fiesta spirit alive with some amazing Cinco de Mayo specials.

New Double Bay Mexican restaurant Sinaloa (led by ex-Noma chef Axell Torres Villa), will debut a ‘Jarritos Passionfruit Paloma’ cocktail special, and a ‘Jarritos Passionfruit Margarita Slushie’, both for $12 each. The cocktail specials will run from May 5 to May 12, with the venue open Wednesdays through Sundays.

La Consta Cantina in Crescent Head will also get on board with $10 Frozen Passionfruit Margaritas and $15 Grapefruit and Jarritos Passionfruit Palomas, Friday 7th and Saturday 8th.
