Help MECCA Support Girls in Disadvantaged Circumstances by Purchasing This Headscarf

Sunday, October 11 marks the launch of Unicef’s annual International Day of the Girl campaign, which focuses on amplifying the voices of girls while also standing up for their rights. This year’s theme is “My voice, our equal future” and it’s asking you to reimagine a better world inspired by adolescent girls.

Beauty retailer MECCA is throwing its support behind this wonderful cause with the creation of its International Day of the Girl x MECCA Headscarves. Designed by one of MECCA’s team members from Queensland, Jade Hill, the scarf features MECCA’s signature pink and red colour palette and can be worn a number of ways, including on your head, around your neck or laced onto your handbag.

Not only is the headscarf aesthetically pleasing but 100% of the gross profits from the scarves support M-Power — MECCA’s philanthropic enterprise that supports secondary school girls who are financially and/or socially challenged. The sale of the scarf will go towards educating girls in disadvantaged circumstances.

Through M-Power, MECCA hopes to support 10,000 girls in finishing secondary school by the year 2025. The retailer is well underway to this goal thanks to working locally with The Skyline Education Foundation, nationally with the Stars Foundation and internationally with CAMFED, which has seen MECCA donate almost $1 million.

The MECCA M-Power x International Day of the Girl Headscarf will be available from October 11 at MECCA stores as well as online for $17. Grab yourself one and support this important initiative.
