Swimming Star Ellie Cole Dives Into ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’

I'm a Celebrity 2024 Ellie Cole

Australia’s favourite reality series — I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! — knows how to cast a series. Last year, it gave us the netball icon Liz Ellis, the celebrity chef Anna Polyviou, and Home and Away’s Debra Lawrance, just to name a few legends. Additionally, I’m a Celebrity 2024 is starring the Paralympian Ellie Cole.

On I’m a Celebrity, the contestants live in a jungle-like environment for up to three weeks. Not only do these celebrities have limited comforts, they also have to compete for their meals and resources. They can only leave this jungle by getting voted off or saying those iconic words, “I’m a celebrity, get me out of here”. The last person left gets to give $100,000 to the charity of their choice.

How well will Ellie Cole do in this environment? Does she have what it takes to be I’m a Celebrity’s winner? Here’s everything we know.

Who Is I’m a Celebrity’s Ellie Cole?

I’m a Celebrity’s Ellie Cole is an athlete with a tenacious story.  After losing her right leg to cancer at the age of three, Ellie worked hard to become a professional swimmer and wheelchair basketball player. At the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics, she became Australia’s most decorated female Paralympic athlete. Over the course of Ellie’s career, she has won 17 Paralympic medals.
