Are You Ready for the Return of ‘My Kitchen Rules’?

If you love cooking shows and have been feeling the void in your life left by the finale of MasterChef Australia: Fans and Favourites, do we have good news for you!

That’s right, folks, My Kitchen Rules is just around the corner, and fans won’t have to wait much longer for it all to kick off.

Even better, this year, fans won’t have to ignore noted conspiracy theorist Pete Evans as they watch the hopeful home cooks compete on the series, because he’s been replaced by the one and only Nigella Lawson.

“Nigella is here,” boasts the trailer for the upcoming season, and honestly, we’d be boasting if we had the queen of domesticity joining us in the kitchen, too.

“When you think about the food you love, it’s nearly always home cooking,” Lawson says in the trailer. “I’m a home cook, and it’s the food I want to eat.”

She continues: “I’ve come 17,000 kilometres to find Australia’s best home cooks.”

Lawson is joining My Kitchen Rules icon Manu Feildel as they visit our contestants, who are all eager to cook up a feast and impress the judges in one of Australia’s most delicious shows.

Also joining My Kitchen Rules this season will be MasterChef Australia alum Matt Preston, with celebrity chefs Colin Fassnidge and Curtis Stone returning as guest judges.

We’re bound to see plenty of mouth-watering meals plated up as a feast for our eyes, and yes, there will likely be some moment where the pressure of the competition gets a little too hot to handle!

This season of My Kitchen Rules promises to take us back to the original recipe that made us fall in love with MKR to begin with: real people from all over the country, cooking real food in their own homes for the judges and their fellow contestants.

We can’t wait to see how it all plays out.

My Kitchen Rules kicks off at 7.00pm on Sunday, August 7, only on 7 and 7 Plus.
