Support Your Fave Local Booze Brands By Buying Their Hand Sani

Archie Rose

With hand sanitiser being one of the most in-demand products over the last few months, a number of local breweries and distilleries have taken up the challenge to create an effective hand sanitiser for both healthcare workers and the public.

While this pivot in production has been an adjustment for these companies, it has allowed them to contribute to the current health crisis in a positive way while also allowing many of them to keep their staff employed.

We’ve rounded up a few of our fave hand sani’s which are being produced by some of the best Aussie booze brands.

Young Henrys

Newtown beer brewers Young Henrys have used its hero product to create a spray hand sanitiser in line with the guidelines recommended by the World Health Organisation.

“Produced from distilled beer this batch comes with an aroma of malt and hops, the botanicals of beer leave you smelling fine and your hands clean,” the website reads.

“We never thought we’d need to be doing something like this… but there is a need and here we are. Supply is limited for now whilst we try to upscale our production to fulfill larger orders for serious needs within our country.”

Four Pillars

Located in the Yarra Valley, Four Pillars usually churns out craft spirits but have recently added an 80% alcohol-based hand sani to its production.

“While this sanitiser is 100% effective it’s also very Four Pillars — we’re using the heads and tails from each distillation and a touch of aloe vera, so the end product has some of the aromatic properties of our gin (but remember it is definitely NOT for drinking),” the website said.

Folks, our liquid hand sanitiser Heads, Tails & Clean Hands is back in stock for ONLINE purchase only – NOT available from distillery door. Containing 80% ethyl alcohol and aloe vera, and made to World Health Organisation standards, this product comes in a 700mL glass gin bottle for you to decant into your own smaller pump or spray bottles at home. It works for surfaces and hands alike, and because it is made from the tails of our distillations it smells wonderfully ginny in the process! Head to the link in our bio and please note the Australia Post delays that are happening nationwide at present, affecting all parcel deliveries. Stay safe gin friends! Archie Rose Distilling Co

Sydney gin and whisky distillery, Archie Rose, has pivoted into making hand sani in order to keep their staff employed while also doing their part to keep sani stocks up.

“In an effort to bolster supplies nationwide and maintain the employment of as many of our team as possible due to the closure of the Archie Rose Bar during the COVID-19 pandemic, we have now reallocated our spirits production capacity to hand sanitiser.”

NEWS! Incredible things have happened since we switched the bulk of our production from spirits to sanitiser just a month ago. Now we’re bringing you the latest from the bottling line. ??️? Our team has been working around the clock to produce more than 100,000 bottles to bolster national supply and provide jobs for 27 people—that’s the original 15 redeployed from our bar team and another 12 friendly faces from the hospo industry who joined the bottling line last week. Admittedly, it has been challenging securing a steady volume of packaging, while adapting our warehouse to meet the demands of packing and shipping an unprecedented number of bottles. It feels a world away from the spirits we’re used to, but welcoming in new faces has been a massive morale boost for everyone. Thank you so much for making this possible. It’s also been a goal of ours to keep our communities safe by setting aside stock for those in need, and from what we’ve been hearing from all of you, that’s high on your list too. As of this week, we’ve supplied a range of government bodies and essential services and supplied thousands of bottles to indie bars, restaurants and bottle shops. Read more on this via the link in bio. None of that could have been done without your ongoing support and patience (that goes for hand sanitiser and spirits). So once again our heartfelt thanks goes again to all those who have helped make it happen—our community, our customers and our team! Yet to get your hands on a bottle? Our latest batch of Hand Sanitiser is available to pre-order now, for dispatch from week commencing May 4 for onward delivery. Get yours via the link in bio. #ArchieRose #StayHomeStaySafe

Prohibition Liquor Co.

South Australian distillery Prohibition Liquor Co. usually produces small-batch craft gin and for the moment, hand sanitiser. While you can’t actually buy the hand sani by Prohibition on its own, the team are throwing in a free bottle with every purchase of a 500 or 700ml bottle of gin.

“Being a distillery and having access to high strength alcohol we decided to make a small batch of our own. Let’s start by saying we are not in the hand sanitiser business and don’t intend to be, but we figured if we are going to make it for ourselves, why not make a small batch for the broader Prohibition Family?” the team wrote on Instagram.
