After being canned in both 2020 and 2021 thanks to you-know-what, Groovin the Moo will return in 2022 with a lineup stacked with local and international music heroes.
Heading to our fine shores from the UK will be Wolf Alice, Thomas Headon, Snakehips and Riton, while Milky Chance will be joining us from Germany. Meanwhile, Broods and Persian-Kiwi rapper CHAII will be making the journey from across the way in New Zealand.
On the Aussie front, absolute icons Spiderbait will no doubt steal the show and they will be joined by hip-hop legends Hilltop Hoods. Also on the local bill are Masked Wolf, RedHook, Polaris, Montaigne, Sycco, Hope D, Alice Ivy, Jesswar and JK-47. Middle Kids and Hockey Dad will also be playing.
Suffice to say, the lineup is already looking pretty sweet, but more acts are due to be announced shortly. Also yet to be revealed are the bands who score the opportunity to play the festival through triple j’s Unearthed initiative.
In sad news for residents of Bunbury and Townsville, the festival will, unfortunately, skip both locations for the first time in over a decade, and South Australia will also miss out for the first time since 2014. Groovin the Moo will start off in Maitland on Saturday, April 23 before heading to Canberra the next day. It will wrap up in Bendigo on Saturday, April 30.
If you’ve still got your tickets from 2020’s cancelled edition, they will still be valid for this year’s event. Otherwise, you can purchase tickets for the festival from 8am on Thursday, March 3 from Groovin the Moo (gtm.net.au).
