If you’re looking for inspiration for where to stay this Euro summer, look no further than Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s recent accommodation in Lake Como, a hotel built in 1910 and boasting 20,000 sqm of park and gardens, overlooking the lake.
Swift is in Europe for her Eras Tour, which she picked back up after a two-month break, from mid-March to mid-May this year. Ahead of her performance at Friends Arena in Sweden on Sunday, May 19, the singer-songwriter stayed in Lake Como with Kelce at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo.
The five-star hotel on the edge of Lake Como has long been a celebrity favourite, with Greta Garbo calling it “that sunny, happy place” in the 1932 film ‘That Sunny, Happy Place’.
The hotel features 90 rooms and three pools, one of which floats on Lake Como. Its T Spa wellness centre includes a sauna, relaxation lounge, gym, tennis court, jogging path and outdoor hot tub overlooking the lake. Guests can also rent one of the hotel’s motorboats to get out and explore the lake.
The hotel also has numerous dining options, including wine bars, lounges and a restaurant on the water La Terrazza, serving fine Italian cuisine. The hotel is three minutes’ walking distance from Villa Carlotta, a botanical garden and museum housing sculptures, paintings and furniture pieces.
Page Six reports Swift and Kelce stayed for three nights in the Villa Sola Cabiati, described as a “Neoclassical landmark”, according to the hotel’s site. It has six separate suites, sleeping up to 12. The room comes with a butler, housekeepers and chambermaid private chef, as well as a private pool, gardens and jetty.
Décor-wise, the villa has terrazzo floors, frescoes by the school of Tiepolo and handcrafted Murano chandeliers. Though it dates back to the 16th century, it was updated with the Neoclassical style it boasts.
“It remains full of period heirlooms and artwork, including the bed in which Napoleon and Josephine Bonaparte slept when they visited the Palazzo Serbelloni in Milan,” the hotel’s website reads.
The villa costs 20,000 euros a night, which works out to roughly $32,619 AUD. Next on Swift’s Eras tour is Lisbon Portugal and Madrid, Spain.
