It’s the biggest night in music.
The 62nd Annual Grammy Awards have brought together some of the world’s biggest music stars under the same roof.
While it’s a time for celebration, spirits were dampened by the tragic death of basketball legend Kobe Bryant and eight others who lost their lives — including his 13-year-old daughter Gianna “GiGi” Maria Bryant — in a helicopter crash just hours before the ceremony.
Host Alicia Keys kicked off the proceedings with a tribute to Bryant.
“We’re literally standing here heartbroken in the house that Kobe Bryant built,” she said, before singing an acapella version of It’s Hard To Say Goodbye to Yesterday with Boyz II Men.
Lizzo led this year’s nominations with eight nods including Album, Record, and Song of the Year, as well as Best New Artist. Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X each was nominated for six awards.
The big winner of the night was 18-year-old Eilish, whom alongside brother FINNEAS, picked up five Grammys and every single major award of the night, including Best New Artist, Best Vocal Pop Album, Song of the Year and Record of the Year.
The Bad Guy singer also made history as the youngest ever winner of Album of the Year (dethroning Taylor Swift).
