Meet Halo: The Stunt Double Icon Coming to ‘Gladiators’

Chanique Greyling is Halo on Gladiators

It’s not even 2024, and we’re already hyped for the new season of Gladiators. We’re ready for the wrestling matches, obstacle course races, and aerial fights. We’re ready for the Gladiators to battle for glory, but especially stoked for Chanique Greyling’s performance as Halo.

For those of you who don’t quite remember the nineties, Gladiators was an Aussie reality TV series that ran from 1995 until 1996. In each episode, a bunch of buff people competed in a gauntlet of physical challenges.

As of 2024, Gladiators is scoring a comeback. However, this reboot will feature a bunch of fresh faces. For instance, the likes of Kimberley Joseph and Mike Hammond won’t be hosting this series. They’ve been replaced by the netball powerhouse Liz Ellis and The Amazing Race’s Beau Ryan.

“I am super pumped to be hosting Gladiators Australia with Beau, who is in the gym as we speak trying to match it with our Gladiators,” Liz said in a press statement. “It’s an iconic franchise, and I’m excited about the reboot.”

What’s more, Halo is a new character coming to the Gladiators universe. Unlike characters like Elektra, we don’t know yet what she’s bringing to the combat dome.

So, will Chanique Greyling’s Halo be a newfound success? Or will she go down in the history books as a flop? Here’s everything that we know.

Who Is Gladiators’ Halo?

Chanique Greyling is an actor who’s best known for being a picture double and stunt double. In 2022, she worked as a picture double for Natalie Portman in Thor: Love and Thunder. In 2023, she was the double for Olivia Swann in NCIS: Sydney

Chanique has also worked as a model, and previously competed in the 2013 season of Australia’s Next Top Model. In this series, she was the first contestant to be eliminated.

As Halo, Chanique plans to use her elegance and grace to lure her opponents into a false sense of security. If this plan is successful, she’ll then use her fighting skills to crush them until they’re husks of defeat.

Gladiators is set to premiere at 7.30pm on Monday, January 15, only on 10 and 10 Play on Demand. Miss its premiere? Catch up on 10 Play.
