Have you well and truly fallen down the rabbit hole of Emily in Paris? Don’t worry, us too. The deliciously sweet and, at times earnest, Netflix series is ridiculously easy to binge and has us Googling all things French fashion and beauty.
The pursuit of “French girl” chic can be a tricky one, especially when it comes to nailing the undone and effortless look of Parisian hair and makeup. You want to look polished but not too put together. It’s a balancing act, that’s for sure.
If you’re struggling in the French girl hair department, it might be time to outsource it to the experts, which is exactly what I did. Enter: Franck Provost — the French salon known for its elegance, style and affordable luxury.
Not only is Franck Provost the number one hair salon in France and number two across Europe but it is also Australia’s number one rated hair salon with an average of 4.7/5 ratings on Google, based on over 2,000 reviews.
Founded in Paris in 1975, Franck Provost made its way to Australia in 2008. So, while jetting over to the city of love isn’t currently possible, indulging in a little Parisian luxury at home is very much doable and is exactly what I did recently as a midweek treat.
While I have found working from home to be a positive influence on my life, it has also meant that I haven’t been investing as much time into my appearance. This is undoubtedly freeing but I also derive a lot of pleasure and confidence from doing my hair, popping on a little makeup and getting dressed up, so it’s a bit of a double-edged sword.
In order to inject a little indulgence into my life, I took a trip to Franck Provost’s Sydney CBD salon for a little pamper session. Upon arrival, I was offered a plethora of beverage options, which included champagne, coffee, tea and water. Rather boringly, I opted for a cup of tea as I still had some work to finish up later that afternoon.
As I sipped my tea, I was treated to a hair treatment as well as a wash and blowdry. I opted for effortless waves for the final look, à la Camille in Emily in Paris, and was delighted that my short hair was transformed into French girl hair despite not being as long or luscious as Camille’s is in the series. All of the staff within the salon were super friendly and accommodating and were all wearing face masks, which made me feel safe during the hour I spent there.
If you’re looking to up your French girl hair game, or simply would like to take a breather and treat yourself to a treatment, the team at Franck Provost will happily help you out. For short hair, a blowdry at Franck Provost costs $49 and $59 for longer locks.
