‘Farmer Wants a Wife’: Is Hannah the One for Farmer Benjamin?

Farmer Wants a Wife is in full swing, and sparks are flying all over the place as we get settled in for a season of (hopefully) long-lasting love connections.

This season, we’re following Farmer Ben, 27, from Wingham, NSW, Farmer Harry, 24, from Kyabram, VIC, Farmer Will, 26, from Berriwillock, VIC, Farmer Benjamin, 33, from Guyra, NSW, and Farmer Paige — the show’s first female farmer — who’s 28 and from Cassilis, NSW.

One of the women vying for Farmer Benjamin’s heart is Hannah, a 29-year-old events planner from Queensland.

Hannah applied for Farmer because “going out to bars and online dating” wasn’t working out for her.

“Let’s see if something as crazy as Farmer Wants A Wife leads me to true love,” she said in a press statement.

Hannah comes from a small country town originally, so she knows that farm living is “not easy”, but she thinks it could be the right move for her.

“I see myself making cups of coffee early in the morning in my PJs in a kitchen on the farm, before hubby and I do some hard yakka,” she said. “I see myself running errands in town while he stays back and does the hard jobs. Coming from a small country town, I understand how much work is involved.”

When Hannah first looked at the Farmer Wants a Wife farmers, she was quite taken by Farmer Benjamin.

“My initial thought was ‘he is so handsome’,” she recalled. “Then when I read his profile, I found myself laughing out loud.”

She continued: “He seems very smart, extremely witty and I love the dry sense of humour, like mine. Not a lot of people know how to take it.”

However, there is one potential deal-breaker in the mix: Farmer Benjamin’s beard, which Hannah is not the hugest fan of.

“Sorry Benjamin, you may need to lose the beard!” she added.

Hannah believes that “finding love is the most important thing in life”, because “everybody deserves love”, so she’s hoping that sparks fly between her and Farmer Benjamin — beard or not.

“At the end of the day, you don’t go home to your friends,” she said. “You go home and make a life with your partner.”

When it comes to Hannah’s love language, she’s all about quality time, and you can skip the grand romantic gestures.

“I would prefer you spend your time with me, not your money,” she explained. “Make me something arty.”

Hannah said that in previous relationships, she’s lost herself to her relationships, after making her “whole life about the person [she was] dating”, but that she’s learnt from those experiences.

“I won’t do that anymore,” she said.

When it comes to the most important element of a relationship, Hannah said that it’s all about “respect”, and they “must be family oriented”.

Still, “they have to be able to take a joke and make [her] laugh”, as well.

Will Farmer Benjamin and Hannah be a match made in heaven? Or will the beard be a hurdle they simply cannot overcome? Only time will tell. Until then…

Farmer Wants a Wife airs at 7.00pm on Sundays, and 7.30pm on Mondays and Tuesdays, only on 7 and 7 Plus.
