Dyson has dropped its first-ever robot vacuum, along with a new air purifier and vacuum cleaner, announced Tuesday, 23 May.
Called the Dyson 360 Vis Nav, the robot vacuum has, according to Dyson, “six times the suction of any other robot vacuum”. Australia is the first market in the world to receive the robot vacuum, available from Thursday, 25 May and will set you back a whopping $2,399.
The Dyson 360 Vis Nav robot vacuum has sensors that detect the corners of a room for precision cleaning, as well as help to build maps of every room in your home. You can then tell it to clean certain zones from your MyDyson app.
The device also uses a fish-eye, 360-degree vision system to help it remember where it’s been and what it has left to clean. It can also clim up to 21mm, and its low profile lets it clean under furniture as low as 99mm. After its 50-minute run-time is up, it’ll automatically return to its dock to recharge. There, through the MyDyson app, you can read a deep cleaning report.
The Dyson 360 Vis Nav can be used on all floors – you can either choose one of four cleaning modes (Auto, Boost, Quick or Quiet), or let the vacuum automatically choose.
Dyson also announced a new purifier called Dyson Purifier Big+Quiet Formaldehyde, which delivers up to 10m projection, is ultra-low noise and has an upgraded filtration. It’s Dyson’s quietest, most powerful purifier. No price or launch date has been shared yet.
Finally, it debuted a new vacuum, its first wet vacuum cleaner: new Dyson V15s Detect Submarine Complete cordless vacuum cleaner. The vacuum will be available in Australia from Thursday, July 6 for $1,549 a pop. It’s the brand’s first wet-and-dry cordless vacuum.
While the V15 Detect vacuum has been on sale for two years, the attachable wet roller head that you can use to wash and clean hard floors is new.
“The biggest piece of feedback we [Dyson] received around existing wet floor cleaners was how complicated maintenance is,” Charlie Park, vice president of floorcare at Dyson, told news.com.au.
“You use them once and they’re great, but then they’re filled with this mixture of water and dirt from the floor, and they only get worse from there. We spent a lot of time on the Dyson Submarine that allowed us to ensure it was easy to clean and hygienic while also effective at floor cleaning.”
